Honda Hedehusene don’t want to sell any cars
My friend Morten in Denmark has some problems with his Peugeot and wants to buy a new cooler car.. He had his eyes on the Honda Civic Type R which seems to be an awesome car.. 201bhp 0-100km/h in 6.6s (my Audi TT does it in 7.4s and only got 180bhp).
He went to his local Honda dealer after calling them multiple times asking about the car and checking when they would get one so he coudl test drive it. When he goes to Honda Hedehusene (also called Borglykke Automobiler A/S) to test drive it, a sales man with the name Brian Larsen looks at him in a strange way and ask him how old he is, when Morten tells him he is 28 the Brian replies that it is a waste of gas to let him test drive the car. Morten asks him very surprised if Honda Hedehusene doesn’t want to sell him the car and gets the reply “Yes”. Then the car dealer just continues to play with his paper folders.
I’ve never heard of a car dealer acting this unfriendly to a customer who wants to spend a few hundred thousand to buy a brand new car, Morten wrote in his blogg on his xboxlife.dk site that he will call the owner and ask if it is this Honda dealers policy to no sell cars to some people, or maybe they just do not want people to test the cars before they buy them..
Anyways.. go buy your Type-R from another car dealer, the car looks awsome.. buy a black one.. red sucks!

My new Monitors - Videoseven V7 L22WD
All 22″ widescreen monitors has the same panel so far, the resolution is 1680×1050 and the panel looks good in my opinion. The foot on it is pretty bad but the picture quality is good and the bleeding while watching a movie is nothing that I think much about.
The good about the monitor is that it looks pretty nice, the back got a nice cover to hide the connectors and cables, the price is very low and it got both a DVI and a VGA connector. It also got built in speakers but since those usually are crappy I’ve not even bothered to test the.
The bad is that didn’t come with any DVI cable and it got some light bleeding at top when watching dark movies, that’s nothing you will think much about during normal usage.
No dead pixels in any of them, the picture quality using DVI is OK, it runs perfectly in games such as WoW and My graphics card had no problem with the new monitors.
Search engine IPs
Last week I was wondering how many of the users on www.mirc.net that was real users and how many was webcrawlers.
I wrote some basic code checking user-agent and IP on everyone connecting to www.mirc.net, added it into a database and now sorting them live. I’ve added known search engine user-agents to a database and if anyone is connecting and is matching that user-agent the IP is sorted in under the correct search engine.
From old experience i knew that Google was indexing us the most, and that Google is the search engine that sends us the most visitors, yet Google has as of today connected with 4 different IPs and Yahoo from 1160 different IPs, why?

My new project
A few weeks ago I managed to get my hands on a new domain - gamelife.se. I’ve started to develop a new swedish gaming site, at the same time as I code this site I’m building a general portal system I can use again for my future web sites, It is pretty interesting to build a brand new portal from start, I’ve learned so much new since I build my last portal so this time I will hopefully do it the right way from the start.
Hardest part with starting this new game site is to get the gamenews, I’ve signed up for multiple game newsletters but seems the publishers press contacts are a bit slow to reply or maybe throw my emails in the trash.
I hope to have the portal finished for october 1st and give the only major gamewebsite in swedish (fragzone) some competition.
I love Monty Python
I found one of my favourite monty python clips today, I think I will try find some collector box with all their stuff on it..
Enjoy the clip bellow
I’m glad I didn’t buy a Dell PC
Just look what happens with their Optiplex GX520 serie of PC when you receive an SMS while cellphone is close to the PC..
Dell now recomend you to not use your cellphone closer then 30 cm from your PC
Building my new PC
I’ve finally started to buy parts for my new PC, the one I got now is not too bad, and it is an AMD 1700+, 2×512Mb ram, Radeon 9600XT 256Mb graphics card and two very old 17″ CRT Sony monitors.
The new PC will be something neat, fresh and will be the very first PC I build for myself from scratch, previously I’ve built workstations at work and upgraded and built own computers from old parts for Linux/FreeBSD servers and such. This time I’ve decided to pick all parts myself and build a PC that will last a few years.
Unfortunally here in Sweden the graphics card I want has not yet been released and the importer keep changing the dates for release.
So far I’ve bought the memory from Corsair 2×1024Mb, the computer chassi and the power supply.
I’ve placed the order for the motherboard, CPU and graphics card too.
I decided to get the AMD Athlon 64 x2 3800+ due to the better price then the 4000+ or 4200+ version; I just felt that the minimal increase in performance didn’t justify the higher price.
As motherboard I decided for the Asus ATX Nforce4 (A8N-SLI SE), it support up to 4GB ram, is SLI ready for the graphics card I plan to buy and seems to be a pretty nice card.
The graphics card I finally decided to buy was the Asus GeForce 7900GT 256MB. I decided not to buy the more expensive GTX version of the card mainly because it cost twice as much as the GT version and because I can later buy a second card and run it in SLI mode. It is the new Nvidia cards release here in Sweden they keep pushing back; from the beginning it was middle of April.. then end of April and now it is middle of May.. It is a bit frustrating that I can not get a real date when it will be delivered but I guess that is something I got to accept or order it from another country such as Germany or Holland where it already been released.
The reason I picked the case (that weight 14Kg!) is that it is in metal, no plastic on it except for the little window on one side. It got one big fan in front sucking in air and blowing it across the motherboard where the CPU and ram is, and another fan in the back sucking air out blowing it out, this should give great cooling in the case. It also got an 8″ fan slot where I can mount an additional fan blowing air over the gfx card area.
Anyways.. that’s how far I gotten in building the PC, I’m also looking at buying some new monitors, I need two so I’ve been looking for some cheap 19″ LCD with DVI connectors, too bad those 30″ LCDs are a bit too expensive
Summer time!
Yay! finaly it feels like the summer has arived to stockholm, i checked the clock/temp on the wall at stockholm T-central and it was +16C at 8:30am.. I don’t understand why I was wearing my jacket, the train to work was also hot.. had to take the jacket off while reading the new book I bought last week, I can recomend it very much. It’s called Rain storm by Barry Eisler.
I’ve also returned to play World of Warcraft, a game i quit last summer due to lack of content, I must say I’ve missed it a bit. After I quit the game I’ve tried serveral other games but I dind’t like many of them. The games I tried was RF Online, Everquest 2, City of Villains and a few beta games. I also returned for a few days to Starwars galaxies but quit again since Sony Online manage to totaly destroy that game!
I’m a damn liar..
I’ve always said i would not create a blog for myself and here I am, typing the very first post in my very own weblog, the truth is that I hate writing, never cared to update any of my personal homepages, I don’t even know how a weblog works because I’ve never cared much about them.
I’m running a website for the IRC (Internet Relay Chat) community called www.mirc.net, mIRC is the most popular chat client to connect to IRC with. Recently (in January) I made some modifications to how Google’s advertising was displayed there and to see if I could make some extra cash, to my surprise the income went from $30 a month to $300 a month. So now I am developing several other free community sites to place Google advertising on.
I got a few interesting ideas for websites I might post some information about them later.
